ByPass - Forum de la Création Musicale #3
Concerts, conferences, workshops, master class in Toulouse with the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne de Montréal
Presented by éOle, in collaboration with the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne de Montréal (NEM), Odyssud, the Auditorium Saint-Pierre des Cuisines, the Théâtre Garonne, the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Toulouse (CRR), the Institut Supérieur des Arts de Toulouse (isdaT).
For its third edition, the ByPass forum is evolving: concerts, meetings, conferences, workshops and master classes are now focused on the hosting in residence of an internationally renowned musical ensemble. This year, we will open the doors of some of Toulouse's greatest musical institutions to the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne de Montréal.

For one week, the musicians of the ensemble will meet the young performers of the isdaT, work closely with composition students from the CRR of Toulouse, give three concerts at Odyssud, at the Auditorium Saint-Pierre des Cuisines and at the Théâtre Garonne, where they will mix world premieres and works from the contemporary repertoire.
Among our guests, composer Philippe Leroux, professor at McGill University in Montreal, whose piece Ami... Chemin... Oser... Vie pour ensemble performed by the NEM will be the subject of a discographic publication under the éole Records label, along with Bertrand Dubedout's latest creation Zazpiak N for piano and 14 instruments.
As rich as ever, the improvisation component that we have been developing since the first edition of ByPass, will confront the worlds of pianist and composer Denis Badault and singer improviser Beñat Achiary, during an exceptional evening at the Théâtre Garonne.
Finally, this 2017 edition will focus on the Zazpiak cycle, inspired to Bertrand Dubedout by the Basque musical tradition of Txalaparta. Preceding Beñat Achiary, the txalaparta duo Oreka TX, the Oldarra men's choir and the famous Pavane pour une infante défunte by Maurice Ravel (born in Ciboure), will come to sing about his native country and neighbouring Spain.
