ByPass - Forum de la Création Musicale #4

Concerts, lectures, workshops, master-class at Toulouse & Blagnac with the pianist Wilhem Latchoumia

An éole production, in collaboration with Odyssud and the Toulouse Conservatory. With the support of Spedidam, the City of Toulouse and the County Council of Haute Garonne.

Since its first edition in 2015, the forum ByPass wants to create a privileged relationship between composers, their performers and the audience, relying on the vital forces of the music educational institutions and cultural venues. To these dimensions deeply related to pedagogical and artistic events, was added in 2017 the residency in Toulouse and Blagnac of an internationally renowned music ensemble or soloist. After being the frame of a residency of the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne of Montréal conducted by Lorraine Vaillancourt last year, ByPass guests this year the pianist Wilhem Latchoumia for a week of recitals, workshops and master-class which will take place in Odyssud, Toulouse Conservatory and Saint-Pierre-des-Cuisines from Monday 5th to Friday 9th of November 2018.
In between the concert "Nuit dans les Jardins d'Espagne" the 5th of November at Odyssud dedicated to Manuel de Falla and composers from éole, and the recital on Friday 9th of November at Auditorium Saint-Pierre-des-Cuisines with pieces by three young composers and the 9 Studies by Ligeti, workshops and masterclass will take place at the Toulouse Conservatory around another important event of the Forum : the concert "Toulouse en créations", performed at the Petit Théâtre Saint-Exupère in Blagnac on Wednesday 7th of November, dedicated to five world premieres by five young composers and their performers from isdaT and Toulouse Conservatory : a path for the new generation to create !

Monday 5th of November 2018
8.30 pm

Flagrances of Andalusia and sound of nowadays by one of the most talented soloist of our Time.

Further to the release of a CD dedicated to Manuel de Falla, the pianist Wilhem Latchoumia invites us to feel the spells of an immemorial Andalusia, within works intertwining virtuosity, untouched strength and poetry. This soloist has also been involved in a ten years artistic fellowship with the composer Pierre Jodlowski, the composer's two Séries confronting piano and electronics. To wind up the evening, the world premiere of a new piece included in the Zazpiak cycle by Bertrand Dubedout - a cycle dedicated to the Basque musical tradition of Txalaparta - with a scenography by Christophe Bergon, evoking a fascinating Andalusia : cradle of Arabo-Andalusian culture, as well as matricial land of Dali and Buñuel surrealism.
